About the Role

Connex Education Partnership is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Bath.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with SEND and additional needs and wants to make a genuine difference to their educational and emotional development.

You will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to provide personalised support, helping pupils to access learning, develop their confidence and build positive relationships within the school environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children, ideally within a school or educational setting
• Has a good understanding of SEND strategies and inclusive practice
• Is caring, patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with children
• Can provide encouragement, reassurance and consistent support
• Has an interest in supporting emotional regulation and emotional literacy
• Understands the importance of helping children develop independence and confidence
• Can support pupils with social communication and interaction
• Is able to recognise when to provide additional support and when to encourage a child to work independently
• Is reflective, willing to learn and committed to developing their practice
• Works well as part of a wider teaching and support team

Experience supporting children with neurodivergent needs, autism, ADHD, SEMH or communication and interaction difficulties would be advantageous, but is not essential. Although previous classroom experience is required.
