Job summary

BNY Mellon in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks an Associate, Reconciliation Representative I to join our Fund and IS Client Ops team. You will analyze reconciliations across securities, cash, and derivatives, and may lead in selected areas.

Responsibilities include reviewing work of junior staff, identifying complex differences, generating break reports, and supporting regulatory and daily/monthly reporting.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of total work experience.
  • Experience in brokerage/banking operations preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and communicate complex break reports.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze reconciliations and, when applicable, lead tasks.
  • Identify and analyze complex exceptions across systems for securities, cash, derivatives.
  • Process client accounts and review junior staff work.
  • Analyze trends, enter reconciliation data, ensure proper aging, and assist with regulatory reporting.
  • Communicate complex break reports to internal groups or external correspondents and monitor resolution.
  • Assist in daily, weekly, and monthly reporting and regulatory reporting.
  • Participate in testing of new technology solutions to keep reconciliation processes intact.
  • Interact with senior stakeholders to obtain feedback on issues or improvements.

Associate, Reconciliation Representative I

We're seeking a future team member for the role of Associate, Reconciliation Representative I, to join our Fund and IS Client Ops team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA.

Responsibilities
  • Perform analysis of reconciliations and, in some areas, serve in a lead capacity.
  • Decipher complex exceptions between systems, clients, institutions, etc. for securities, cash, and/or derivatives; perform root‑cause analysis on why exceptions exist.
  • Process client accounts; review work performed by more junior levels.
  • Analyze trends, enter reconciliation data, and ensure proper aging; assist junior staff in identifying more complex differences and escalation of unidentifiable differences to more experienced support staff.
  • Communicate complex break reports to internal groups or external correspondents and monitor resolution; assist in analyzing operational needs.
  • Assist in daily, weekly, and monthly reporting using an understanding of the stock record and knowledge of basic accounting; assist with regulatory reporting.
  • Participate in testing of new technology solutions or enhancements to ensure reconciliation processes remain intact.
  • Interact with senior‑level stakeholders in other groups to obtain feedback on issues or improvements.
Qualifications
  • High School/secondary school or equivalent combination of education and experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of total work experience preferred.
  • Experience in brokerage/banking operations preferred.
  • Ability to decipher complex exceptions, conduct root‑cause analysis, and communicate break reports; knowledge of stock record and basic accounting.
  • People leadership (if applicable): No direct reports; may serve in a lead capacity providing work guidance or review/approval oversight to lower-level peers.
