How You Will Contribute:

Customer-facing presales engineering representative focused on India Enterprise, Datacenter, and ISP markets. Perform technical tasks, including assisting in written proposals, network design and engineering, and quotes. Must be able to communicate solutions to customers and collaborate with internal Ciena teams for both software and hardware products to develop new features based on customer needs.

  • Provide network and application engineering expertise for CIENA products.
  • Consult with customers to design and implement next-generation architectures tailored to their needs.
  • Develop comprehensive network designs and technical solutions aligned with customer applications and business drivers.
  • Utilize CIENA network design and modeling tools proficiently to deliver optimized solutions.
  • Prepare detailed quotations and support proposal development for optical transport products.
  • Deliver product and technical expertise to support sales initiatives.
  • Create and present compelling design and application presentations for customers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, and Marketing to address customer requirements and recommend product enhancements.
  • Oversee and mentor regional Sales Engineers, setting team goals and documenting processes and outcomes.
  • Facilitate customer transitions from end-of-life products to CIENA’s optical solutions.
  • Maintain proficiency in Siebel CRM for seamless sales process management.
  • 50%+ travel required to support customer engagement and project success.
The Must Haves:
  • Strong technical expertise in designing optical networks and fiber optic solutions for ISPs (Jio/LTV preferred), enterprise clients, and data centers.
  • Solid foundational knowledge of routing, switching, and telecommunications network management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with effective presentation skills.
  • Highly adaptable and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.
  • Proven skills in management, decision-making, and problem-solving.
  • Experience navigating competitive sales environments.
Education/Experience
  • BE/B.Tech or equivalent with CCNA/other IP certifications.
  • 6+ years of telecommunications industry experience focusing on Optical/DWDM/Layer 0-1.
  • Systems/Sales Engineering background required.
