Job summary

Mazda Toyota Manufacturing USA Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks a Cost Analyst to manage labor budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting.

You will partner with multiple departments to analyze headcount, labor hours, and cost drivers, ensuring accurate monthly closes and audit support. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of cost analysis experience in manufacturing, strong Excel skills, and ERP experience (SAP/Oracle/JD Edwards/Workday).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to work independently and stay organized.
• Attention to detail and thoroughness in reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Two+ years cost analysis experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Workday).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate annual, quarterly and monthly labor budget and forecast processes.
• Conduct plan vs. actual variance analyses.
• Prepare information for annual financial statement audits.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze headcount and labor costs.
• Create and maintain labor cost reports and dashboards.
• Report labor cost results to senior management and in cost meetings.

What You Do

Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborate closely with all departments to manage and report productivity and labor efficiency results and capture labor costs for MTM.

As Part Of The Above Responsibilities, You Will Also

• Coordinate the annual, quarterly, and monthly labor budget and forecast processes
• Conduct quarterly and monthly plan vs. actual variance analysis
• Prepare information requested for the annual financial statement audit
• Establish strong team member relations at all levels and promote team member development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
• Collaborate with international team members from Mazda, Toyota, and other customers
• Work with cross-functional departments to analyze process headcount and total headcount per shop
• Calculate and analyze total work time hours for each shop
• Partner with the payroll team to identify labor cost drivers and explain gaps to plan
• Report labor cost results and drivers in monthly financial reporting and cost obeya meetings to senior management
• Create daily, weekly, and monthly reports to visualize plan vs. actual labor cost results
• Identify and calculate the labor cost impact and ROI of capital projects
• Coordinate cost improvement management activities
• Demonstrate innovation in collaborating with other departments to develop effective labor data and reports from various systems
• Manage and report year-over-year HPU (hours per unit) results
• Collaborate with Cost Management and Financial Reporting team members as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the department
• Work outside of typical business hours and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)

• Experience with major enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or Workday Adaptive Planning
