Job summary

Mazda Toyota Manufacturing USA Inc. in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a cost analyst to manage labor budgets, forecast headcount, and report labor costs across shops.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and international partners to drive cost improvement and accurate monthly close. The role requires a high school diploma plus two+ years in cost analysis in manufacturing, proficiency in Excel, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/JD Edwards/Workday), and strong organization.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of cost analysis experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with major ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/JD Edwards/Workday).
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate labor budgets and forecast processes (annual, quarterly, monthly).
• Analyze plan vs. actual variances and report to management.
• Close monthly financials and prepare data for audits.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to improve labor reporting and costs.
• Develop daily/weekly/monthly labor cost reports and drive cost improvements.

What You Do

Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborate closely with all departments to manage and report productivity and labor efficiency results and capture labor costs for MTM. As part of the above responsibilities, you will also:

• Coordinate the annual, quarterly, and monthly labor budget and forecast processes
• Conduct quarterly and monthly plan vs. actual variance analysis
• Prepare information requested for the annual financial statement audit
• Establish strong team member relations at all levels and promote team member development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
• Collaborate with international team members from Mazda, Toyota, and other customers
• Work with cross-functional departments to analyze process headcount and total headcount per shop
• Calculate and analyze total work time hours for each shop
• Partner with the payroll team to identify labor cost drivers and explain gaps to plan
• Report labor cost results and drivers in monthly financial reporting and cost obeya meetings to senior management
• Create daily, weekly, and monthly reports to visualize plan vs. actual labor cost results
• Identify and calculate the labor cost impact and ROI of capital projects
• Coordinate cost improvement management activitiesDemonstrate innovation in collaborating with other departments to develop effective labor data and reports from various systems
• Manage and report year-over-year HPU (hours per unit) results
• Collaborate with Cost Management and Financial Reporting team members as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the department
• Work outside of typical business hours and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)
• Complete monthly financial close activities as required undefined

What You Bring

• High school diploma
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (critical)
• Ability to work independently
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

What Will Set You Apart

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Two or more years of cost analysis experience in manufacturing
• Experience with major enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or Workday Adaptive Planning

Hiring Range Salary: $84,581.12 - $108,270.98

We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your personal compensation in the market range. Our compensation structure consists of an annual salary and a yearly discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.
