Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day guidance on import, export and export controls to internal customers; respond to ECCN classifications and documentation requirements.
• Monitor compliance to import and export policies and procedures.
• Determine ECCN jurisdiction and licensing requirements under EAR, ITAR and CBP; support AES resolutions.
• Monitor denied party screening.
• Deliver training on import/export controls; communicate guidance and implement requirements.
• Update policy and procedure manuals with GTC.
• Design tools and reports to measure compliance program effectiveness.
• Lead compliance reviews and audits of activities; identify synergies to reduce risk and costs.
• Oversee third party providers and maintain necessary performance reports.
• Maintain records and ensure timely post-entry reconciliations and customs responses.
• Support product compliance data gathering.
• Attend seminars and read industry publications to stay informed.
• AES site administrator and training.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job description

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support and guidance on import, export, and export controls related issues to internal customers. Respond to inquiries regarding Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) classifications, documentation requirements, or other export regulations.
• Monitor compliance to import and export policies and procedures.
• Determine export control classification (ECCN) jurisdiction, licensing end use and licensing requirements (if applicable) based upon the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and U.S. Customers Regulations (CBP). Additionally, support the business with Automated Export System (AES) resolutions.
• Monitor the denied party screening process
• Deliver customized import, export, and export controls compliance training programs for internal customers. Communicate formal guidance regarding the requirements and interpretation of import and export regulations and implement such requirements.
• Work with GTC to regularly update and distribute import and export policy and procedure manuals.
• Design tools and performance reports to provide awareness and measure effectiveness of compliance programs.
• Lead regular and periodic compliance reviews and assessments (internal and external) of corporate import and export activities and audits
• Identify, recommend, and implement import and export compliance synergies to reduce costs and regulatory risk.
• Provide oversight of third party providers, focusing on compliance with meeting agreed to service and compliance levels. (E.g. freight forwarders, customs brokers, etc.). Develop, create or obtain all necessary performance metric reports.
• Oversee maintenance of import, export, and export controls compliance records in accordance with governmental regulations.
• Ensure the proper and timely filing of all post entry reconciliations, and responses to Customs requests for information.
• Support Product Compliance for data gathering.
• Attend seminars, training, and meetings and read industry publications to maintain knowledge of specialized information and identify any regulation or industry changes affecting Nordson’s business.
