Job summary

Atlas Molded Products in Michigan is seeking a manufacturing operator who can read a tape measure, follow safety and quality standards, and pass a background check. This role requires reliability and the ability to work on the shop floor.

You will direct department personnel to meet production schedules, operate and set up equipment, collect data in ERP, and help maximize yield while keeping within quality tolerances.

Qualifications

• Must have prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Able to operate basic measuring tools and perform simple math.

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

Candidate must be able to read a tape measure, be reliable, and pass a drug screen and background check.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties as assigned)

• General understanding of the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures
• Direct department personnel to ensure orders are produced in a timely fashion and adhere to safety and quality standards in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
• Must be able to work independently and collaborate with others to ensure production schedule and quality standards are met, and report issues to supervisor
• Operate and set up departmental equipment
• Perform various data collection functions in PeopleSoft (ERP)
• Maximize yield and reduce scrap
• Report department metrics
• Verify order information and produce part(s) with the correct material, density, weight, size, and/or shape within quality tolerance to meet customer specifications while meeting productivity standards.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Machine operation or basic troubleshooting
• Experience working in multiple areas
• Basic mechanical aptitude

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Must be fluent in the English language, both written and spoken
• Must be able to use simple math and use basic hand-held measuring tools
• Must be computer literate; Excel, Word, Outlook, ERP systems

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Light to moderate physical e?ort required including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing steps or ladders, grasping, fine and course manipulation, reaching both forward and above head level, and tolerant of temperature changes for the entire shift.??
