Job summary

NextDeavor is seeking a Specialist, Events and Programs to plan and execute recurring and signature events that elevate member engagement and revenue. The hybrid role requires onsite presence at least 3 days per week with up to 2 remote days, and occasional after-hours coverage.

You will collaborate with internal teams, partners, and members to deliver high-quality experiences, support registrations, and manage program operations across regional events.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience developing events or programs and leading event logistics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong database and spreadsheet skills, including experience creating and maintaining tracking reports and using CRM/registration systems.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs. and reliably transport event-related supplies; reliable form of transportation required.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with members, staff, volunteers, vendors, and community partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and execution for monthly and annual programs (example events: Toast of Seattle, Business After Hours, Industry Insights, Young Professional Network, Councilmember Coffee Chat, Chair Dinner).
  • Manage event logistics: vendor and speaker coordination, timelines, setup/takedown, onsite registration, and staffing.
  • Oversee registration processes including payment processing, attendee tracking, complimentary guest management, and database maintenance.
  • Develop and monitor event budgets and support revenue generation and sponsorship efforts, including securing in-kind contributions.
  • Collaborate with Membership, Communications, External Affairs, and marketing partners to promote events and drive participation.
  • Provide administrative support: correspondence, proofreading, website/registration updates, mailings, scheduling, and file management.
  • Travel regionally or locally as needed to meet vendors, members, and stakeholders and work outside regular business hours for events.

Become a Key Player as a Specialist, Events and Programs

You will plan and execute recurring and signature events that drive member engagement and revenue for the organization. In this hybrid role (onsite a minimum of 3 days/week, with up to 2 remote days; office generally closed Fridays), you will work closely with internal teams, external partners, vendors, and members to deliver high-quality experiences and support registration and program operations.
