Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Manager, Events and Programs in Seattle, WA. This role leads policy-driven events, oversees a team of two specialists, and partners with Membership, Public Affairs, and Communications to deliver high-impact experiences for members and partners.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years in events, strong budgeting, vendor coordination, and a talent for cross-department collaboration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience developing events or programs and managing event logistics.
• Experience supervising, coaching, or leading staff.
• Ability to attend early morning and evening events.
• Strong guest, member, or customer service orientation.
• Demonstrated written communication skills.
• Experience evaluating programs and implementing improvements.
• Strong cross-department collaboration skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of the Chamber’s policy-driven event portfolio, managing monthly and annual programs from concept through delivery.
• Supervise, coach, and support Events & Programs Specialists responsible for assigned event portfolios, including setting priorities, monitoring progress, and providing feedback.
• Coordinate team workload across multiple event portfolios, aligning timelines, resources, and responsibilities with department priorities and event goals.
• Lead signature programs (Business Issues Forum, Public Officials Reception, Legislative Happy Hour, Councilmember Happy Hour, Alaska Business Forum, Chamber Briefings, Seattle Day).
• Shape program positioning and visibility with Marketing & Communications, including branding and messaging.
• Drive audience growth and engagement across Chamber programming.
• Collaborate across departments to align planning, content, promotion, logistics, budgeting, and engagement.
• Develop and implement new program strategies and formats to advance goals and impact.
• Engage and retain members through aligned programming with Membership.
• Oversee registration operations and ensure a consistent participant experience across portfolios.
• Secure and manage in-kind sponsorships and partnerships to support delivery.
• Support event operations, including vendor coordination and on-site logistics.
• Perform administrative tasks with professionalism.
