Overview
Provides ongoing support to the Company’s employee relations objectives. Serves as the primary Human Resources business partner responsible for all aspects of the Company’s Employee Recognition Programs, including design, implementation, and ongoing administration. Also coordinates the roll-out and updates of Human Resources communications (e.g., Employee Newsletter) to the organization. Supports the Director of Employee Relations and Vice President of Human Resources in special projects as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide investigation support for employee complaints, including gathering documentation, interviewing involved parties/witnesses, and taking detailed notes.
- Compile investigation findings into clear and concise reports for review by the Director of Employee Relations.
- Work closely with the Director of Employee Relations and HR Business Partners to ensure effective handling of investigations.
- Drive the development and implementation of Recognition programs and other people-related initiatives.
- Manage all employee recognition programs (e.g., Employee of the Month, “Kudos” letters).
- Make recommendations to Senior Management to improve employee satisfaction and motivation.
- Analyze, benchmark, and recommend modifications to recognition programs and HR policies based on retention data and industry trends.
- Research diversity initiatives and suggest enhancements to the company’s diversity program.
- Stay informed of federal and state employment laws/regulations to ensure compliance with HR policies and practices.
- Coordinate HR communication roll-outs and updates to policies, handbooks, etc.
- Facilitate employee events such as Bring Your Kids to Work, award banquets, and company parties.
- Develop and implement employee discount programs and offers.
- Design and generate quarterly employee newsletters (CBPS and AGS).
- Liaise with CUSA regarding award programs, Canon offerings, and special projects.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Intermittent physical activity including reaching, sitting, bending, or lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Some travel may be necessary (less than 1%).
- Mental qualifications include the ability to perform all assigned tasks and ensure good morale among employees.
Qualifications
- Four-year college degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- 1-2 years of experience in Employee Relations or a related area.
- Knowledge of standard office equipment.
- Advanced report writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of HR database programs.
- Knowledge of MS Publisher and graphic manipulation.
- Excellent relationship management skills.
- Ability to maintain high confidentiality standards.

- Strong organizational, administrative, record-keeping, and time management skills.
- Effective negotiation and influencing skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
