Job summary

Mutual of Omaha is seeking a Special Risk Claim Analyst to handle participant accident claims for college athletes. You will thoroughly review, analyze, investigate, and determine benefits, with data entry and system updates to support proper claim setup.

The role is hybrid and located at our Corporate Headquarters in Omaha, NE, with training in-person from 6:30am to 3pm, Monday through Friday. You will also manage claims, initiate payments or denials, and stay informed on regulatory changes

Job description

Mutual of Omaha is hiring for a Special Risk Claim Analyst position. In this role, you will be responsible for handling participant accident claims for college athletes, focusing on the thorough review, analysis, investigation, and determination of benefits. You will be required to perform accurate data entry, imaging and system updates related to claims, policy, eligibility and correspondence to support proper claim set up.

This role is a hybrid position that will be located at our Corporate Headquarters in Omaha, NE.

Training hours are 6:30am-3pm Monday through Friday and will be in person. After training, you can start any time between 6:30am-8:00am.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

• Hourly Wage: $20.50 - $21.00, plus annual bonus opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Manage Claims: You will delve into claims, conducting thorough reviews and analyses to determine benefits. Your work will be guided by policy provisions and government regulations, where you'll apply rules and procedures with precision and limited discretion.
• Resolve and Execute Claims: Once all questions related to a claim are resolved, you'll be responsible for initiating payments or denials through our claims system, adhering strictly to our policy guidelines.
• Adjust and Update: You may also handle routine or manual adjustments to claims, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Stay Informed and Inform: Keep up-to-date with industry changes, federal and state regulations, and internal process adjustments.
• Drive Quality and Efficiency: Achieve and exceed predetermined productivity and quality standards, contributing actively to our continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing process enhancements.
  

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex information, identify discrepancies, and ensure accurate claim processing.
• Tech Savvy: Comfortable using various software for word processing, spreadsheets, email, and presentations.
• Proven ability to prioritize competing responsibilities, manage a diverse workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED:

• Medical claims processing, healthcare administration, insurance claims, or medical customer service experience preferred
