Job summary

Broadway In Chicago is seeking a detail-oriented Special Projects Staff Accountant to join our downtown Chicago team. You will manage journal entries, reconciliations, and multiple entities while supporting financial reporting for productions and venues.

The role requires strong accounting fundamentals, excellent communication, and the ability to collaborate across departments in a fast-paced entertainment environment. On-site office presence is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics GP, QuickBooks).
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Perform monthly bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
• Prepare financial schedules, reports, and analyses.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Assist with tax reporting requirements.
• Support audit preparation and external requests.
• Collaborate with internal departments and vendors.
