Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, seeks a Special Procedure Nurse to join our Urgent Care team in Peabody, MA. You will provide pre- and post-procedure care across GYN, Oral & Maxillofacial, Oncology, and GI procedures within a collaborative, value-based care model.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license in MA, completed an accredited program, BLS, ACLS as needed, and 3+ years of med/surgical or ambulatory nursing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completed an accredited Registered Nurse education program.
• Active and unrestricted RN licensure in the state of MA.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• ACLS may be required based on specialty.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in medical/surgical or ambulatory nursing.
• Willing or ability to participate in IVMS seminar every two years.

Responsibilities

• Support the procedural process as part of a collaborative care team.
• Organize resources and activities to ensure safe, efficient procedural flow.
• Provide specialty-specific care, including pre-op assessment and post-op monitoring.
• Perform nursing procedures within scope of practice (IV placement, meds, injections, wound care, EKGs, glucose testing).
• Deliver patient education and instructions for pre- and post-procedure care; maintain documentation.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate relevant data to the care team.
• Administer medications per physician orders and assist with oncology care coordination.
• Maintain safety standards, credentialing, and certifications (BCLS, ACLS, specialty certifications).
• Contribute to staff education, department meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Foster collaborative relationships and assist with program planning.
