Job summary

Atrius Health in Weymouth, MA is seeking a Special Procedure Nurse to join the Endoscopy team. Responsibilities include pre- and post-procedure assessment, IV sedation support, and post-op monitoring within GYN, oral/maxillofacial, oncology, and GI procedures.

You will work with a collaborative care team, maintain documentation, ensure safety, and participate in staff education and quality improvement. Must have MA RN license, BLS, ACLS if required, and 3+ years of medical/surgical experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completed an accredited Registered Nurse education program.
• Active and unrestricted RN licensure in the state of MA.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• ACLS may be required based on specialty; IVMS seminar every two years.

Responsibilities

• Support the procedural process as part of a collaborative care team.
• Organize resources and activities to ensure safe, efficient procedural flow.
• Provide specialty-specific care, including pre-op assessment, IV moderate sedation, intra-procedural support, and post-op monitoring for GYN, oral & maxillofacial, and GI procedures.
• Perform nursing procedures within scope of practice (IV placement, medications, injections, wound care, EKGs, glucose testing).
• Deliver patient education and instructions for pre- and post-procedure care; maintain documentation and confidentiality.
• Monitor patient condition; communicate data to the care team.
• Administer medications per physician orders; assist with oncology care coordination.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards, credentialing, and certifications (BCLS, ACLS, specialty certifications).
• Contribute to staff education, department meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Foster collaborative relationships and assist with program planning.
