Job summary

Atrius Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Special Procedure Nurse to join our Urgent Care team. Under the direction of the department chief, you will provide pre- and post-procedure assessment, intra-procedural support, and specialty nursing care for GYN, OMFS, Oncology, and GI procedures.

This role requires MA RN license, BLS, ACLS if needed, and 3+ years of relevant experience. You will ensure safe procedural flow, educate patients, document meticulously, and participate in quality

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Active and unrestricted MA RN licensure; accredited RN program completed.
• BLS certification; ACLS may be required based on specialty.
• 3+ years of relevant medical/surgical or ambulatory nursing experience.
• Willing to participate in IVMS seminars every two years.

Responsibilities

• Support the procedural process as part of a collaborative care team.
• Organize resources and activities to ensure safe, efficient procedural flow.
• Provide specialty-specific care including pre-op assessment, IV sedation, intra-procedural support, and post-op monitoring for GYN Surgery, OMFS, GI procedures.
• Perform nursing procedures within scope of practice (IV placement, meds, injections, wound care, EKGs, glucose testing).
• Deliver patient education and instructions for pre- and post-procedure care; maintain documentation and confidentiality.
• Monitor patient condition throughout the procedural process and communicate data to the care team.
• Administer medications per physician orders and assist with oncology coordination.
• Maintain safety compliance, credentialing, and certifications.
• Contribute to staff education, department meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a resource for patient flow management and program planning; foster collaborations.
