Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Special Procedures Technologist to perform complex angiographic and interventional radiology procedures. The role requires ARRT in Radiography, a Radiologic Technology program, BLS certification, and at least two years of radiology experience with sterile technique.

The position is full-time, day shift, at RWJ Hamilton, with a strong emphasis on patient safety, teamwork, and high-quality imaging in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology Program per ASRT and NJ standards.
• AR RT registry active in Radiography with BLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years radiology experience, including special procedures.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs, push/pull 50 lbs, and stand 6 hours daily.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with physicians and nurses.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients; perform contrast procedures with safety and accuracy.
• Operate diagnostic and interventional radiology equipment under supervision.
• Scrub, circulate, or monitor during angiographic procedures as needed.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist with catheter and guidewire passage.
• Enter images in EMR/PACS and ensure proper labeling and archiving.
