Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for the RWJUH Hamilton Hospital in Hamilton, NJ. This per diem, night-shift position will perform radiographic procedures with portable, diagnostic, and fluoroscopic equipment, producing high-quality images for physician interpretation.

Required to have an NJ state license, ARRT certification, and BLS, with knowledge of radiologic technology and medical terminology.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs surgical and portable examinations as assigned.
• Performs and/or assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Prepares and maintains room and assures emergency supplies are intact.
• Instructs radiology students according to clinical and didactic requirements.
• Assists in the orientation of department and hospital personnel, as appropriate.
• Performs visual checks on equipment and reports findings to appropriate personnel.
• Performs all routine radiographic procedures and views according to the department procedure manual.
• Identifies problems and communicates with immediate supervisor/charge staff, offers solutions as appropriate.
• Adjusts technical factors in proportion to the patient and body part being examined, while minimizing radiation.
• Participate in the teaching/preparation of patients/families as appropriate and according to age-specific guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
