Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year cooking experience in a high-volume setting.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• Knowledge of portion control, forecasting procedures and ingredients.
• Must follow recipes and adjust yields.
• Knowledge of HACCP and apply it in operations.
• Knowledge of food presentation and service.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Uses good judgment and consults supervisor when necessary.
• Prepares breakfast items and vegetables as well as other cooked-food items as designated.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the Service Standards and incorporates them into duties.
• Attends meetings and in-services for food production employees.
• Utilizes all types of kitchen equipment to prepare food.
• Maintains open communication and good relationships with others.
• Plans work assignments accordingly and uses time effectively.
• Provides assistance and contributes new ideas to the department.
