Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator in Buffalo to craft and decorate cakes, tarts, and pastries with artistic piping and floral details. You’ll ensure high quality and accuracy for special-order items while upholding safety and cleanliness in a fast-paced bakery environment.

The role supports Apprentices and team members and requires 6–12 months of retail or restaurant experience, along with strong customer service and team collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Decorating cakes, tarts, pastries with piping and flowers.
• Follow recipes and maintain quality control.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the bakery.
• Provide customer service and handle special orders.
• Assist Apprentices and team members.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, select pastry, and special-order bakery items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures to meet business demand; complete production and spoilage records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise and showcase products in the display case with freshness and proper rotation.
• Provide guidance and support for Bakery Decorator Apprentices and other Team Members.
• Create special order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Provide excellent customer service and address customer needs promptly.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment; ensure equipment safety.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties and ensure accurate signage and pricing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
