Job summary

County of Delaware’s Civil Defense seeks an Operations Specialist in the Special Operations Section to provide subject matter expertise, inform department annexes, coordinate field operations, and maintain deployable equipment and teams.

The role includes training staff, managing data and tracking systems for deployments, calendars, fleet, equipment, and volunteer hours, plus handling grant paperwork and team files; available 24/7 for deployments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Extensive data management and reporting experience required.
• Familiarity with Emergency Management or response.
• Pennsylvania driver's license in good standing.
• ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 completed.
• Emergency Vehicle Operations Certificate (EVOC).

Responsibilities

• Track resource requests and deployments as a daily task.
• Maintain equipment, fleet, and volunteer tracking records.
• Keep mandated records and data for team deployments per grant and regulations.
• Train, coordinate, support, and work with volunteers and paid partners weekly.
• Attend meetings and represent the Department as a subject matter expert weekly.
• Support deployments and communications on a monthly/PRN basis.
