Job summary

The State of Delaware seeks a Social Services County Operations Manager I to lead a countywide social services program. You will supervise over 70 staff and oversee a multi-layer budget while coordinating with state and private partners to ensure quality client services.

Responsibilities include developing operating plans, guiding senior staff, and implementing program improvements in line with department goals. Telework and alternative work schedules are available per policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Behavioral or Social Science or related field.
• Three years experience coordinating and monitoring delivery of professional social services for children, youth and families.
• Three years experience ensuring compliance with laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Six months experience in health or human services program administration and in planning/establishing goals.

Responsibilities

• Manages and directs activities of a multifaceted social services program.
• Monitors service delivery and implements organizational changes to achieve goals.
• Develops and revises operating plans and procedures, ensuring policies support effective service delivery.
• Plans, assigns, reviews, and evaluates work of supervisory staff.
• Participates in senior management discussions on statewide needs and issues.
• Collaborates with program development managers on new or revised service programs.
• Works with other providers to ensure quality services to clients.
• Oversees support functions like building and vehicle maintenance and supplies.
