Job summary

Atlantic County Special Services seeks a School Bus Aide to support students with disabilities and ensure safe transportation. The role requires a high school diploma (prefered), CPR and First Aid, and the ability to lift and assist pupils.

Certification must be obtained within 60 days of employment, with strong character and reliability emphasized. Experience with disabled pupils is preferred, and the board may consider alternatives to stated qualifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Must possess and maintain CPR and First Aid.
• Certification, or obtain within 60 calendar days of employment.
• Experience with disabled pupils preferred.
• Be in good physical and mental health. Capable of lifting, positioning and caring for disabled children.
• Be of good character and reputation.
• Be able to take direction and supervision.
• Be responsible, dependable, self-reliant, and display initiative.
• Be sensitive to the nature and needs of the disabled and their families.
• Required Criminal History background check and proof of U.S. Citizenship or legal resident alien status.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may deem appropriate.
