Job summary

Poway Unified School District seeks a dedicated Bus Aide to help provide safe transportation for students with disabilities. You will assist with loading and unloading, monitor student behavior, and support the Bus Driver to ensure student safety.

Requirements include a high school diploma and experience with children with special needs. CPR/First Aid certifications are required within six months, with training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with children with special needs preferred.
• Ability to follow safety practices and written/oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with disabilities and other passengers during loading/unloading on buses.
• Monitor and manage student behavior to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Assist students in wheelchairs and secure seating using appropriate restraints.
• Maintain routine records and incident reports related to student transportation.
• Provide first aid and CPR when needed in emergencies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
