Job summary

Chester County School District Transportation is seeking a School Bus Aide to assist special education students during transport and activities, ensuring safety and cleanliness of assigned vehicles. The role reports to the Transportation Director and involves enforcing safety rules and supporting loading/unloading procedures.

Responsibilities include monitoring students for safety, attending trainings, and coordinating with teachers and guardians.

Qualifications

• Must understand safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to follow multi-step written and oral instructions.
• Ability to operate school transportation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assess potential emergency situations on the bus and loading zones to protect passengers.
• Assist students for special needs during transport and safe loading/unloading.
• Enforce rules/regulations and maintain safety.
• Monitor students to prevent distractions and ensure safety.
• Secure students and equipment with restraints (wheelchairs, seat belts).
• Report observations and incidents to appropriate personnel.
• Attend meetings for training and information sharing.
• Assist other personnel as needed.
