Job summary

Glassboro Public Schools is seeking a School Bus Aide to assist in providing safe transportation for physically and mentally handicapped students. You will help with loading/unloading, loading wheelchairs, securing seats and restraints, and monitoring behavior under district policies.

The role requires a high school diploma and experience with children with special needs, plus NJDOE training per NJSA 18A:39-19.2, strong communication, patience, and adherence to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and experience with children with special needs.
• Must complete NJDOE training per NJSA 18A:39-19.2.
• Knowledge of child guidance, safety regulations, and basic record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Assist with loading/unloading of students and secure seats.
• Monitor student behavior and maintain order on the bus.
• Provide first aid and CPR when needed and follow emergency procedures.
• Communicate with teachers, staff, and parents about student needs.
• Maintain routine records related to behavior and activities.
