Job summary

Orange County Public Schools seeks an Educational Assistant to support students with severe disabilities under supervision. You will assist with instructional activities, daily living skills, and safety during buses and meals, while applying positive behavioral approaches.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential. Two years of relevant experience and a high school diploma are required, with ESE training within 45 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, with two years experience with exceptional needs students.
• Completion of ESE Training within 45 days of hire is required.
• Ability to monitor and support behavioral, educational, and daily living activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional, behavioral and developmental assistance to students with severe disabilities as directed.
• Assist with positive behavioral supports and problem-solving instruction.
• Support in crisis intervention and safety procedures, including supervision during meals, bus transfers, and breaks.
• Assist with daily living skills and use of assistive devices as appropriate.
• Help develop lesson plans and data collection for progress monitoring and IEPs.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of district technology and training as required.
