VCU Parking & Transportation’s Special Events unit assists with nearly 200 events per year, handling events ranging from just a few attendees to over 8,000. This unit is responsible for parking over 100,000 cars and counting each year. Individuals within this unit of Parking & Transportation are responsible for processing credit card transactions, directing traffic safely to parking spaces, ensuring folks walk safely from their vehicles to their event, and safely exiting the parking area at the end of the event. Individuals may be responsible for setting up block offs, controlling zoned off areas such as ADA, and providing customers with information concerning the event or Parking & Transportation. Individuals will be traffic trained to control traffic anywhere in the state of Virginia.
This is a dynamic, fast-paced role that requires teamwork, adaptability, and a strong customer-focused mindset. Ideal candidates are dependable, professional, and capable of creating a positive experience for all who visit VCU. Position may work in all types of weather conditions.
Salary Range: $15/hr
