Job summary

Family of Kidz seeks a Special Educator Resource Room in New York to provide targeted support for students with IEP goals during the school day.

You will deliver small-group instruction, develop individualized lesson plans, and review/implement IEP mandates while collaborating with teachers and families. This role follows the school calendar and offers part-time or full-time potential with compensation up to $60/hour.

Qualifications

• NYS Students with Disabilities Certification K-6, 7-12 (NY SWD All Grades or Permanent Preferred).
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a setting focusing on supporting children and their families preferred.
• Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, small-group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals.
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs.
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to support diverse learners.
• Review, understand, and implement each student’s IEP mandates.
• Collect ongoing progress data and prepare quarterly progress reports.
• Maintain accurate session notes and submit documentation within required timelines.
• Communicate regularly with general education teachers regarding student needs, accommodations, and classroom strategies.
• Participate in CSE/IEP meetings as needed.
• Maintain professional communication with families, school administrators, and related service providers.
• Create a structured, supportive learning environment.
• Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom routines.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data.
