Job summary

Family of Kidz seeks a Special Educator Resource Room to support students with IEP goals across the North Shore. The role offers part-time or full-time hours during the school day and pays $60/hour, with flexibility based on caseload.

You will design individualized lesson plans, provide small-group instruction, monitor progress, and collaborate with teachers and families to implement IEP mandates.

Qualifications

• NYS SWD Certification required or preferred.
• Experience supporting children and families in an educational setting.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, small-group instruction aligned with students' IEP goals.
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs.
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to support diverse learners.
• Review, understand, and implement each student's IEP mandates.
• Collect ongoing progress data and prepare quarterly progress reports.
• Maintain accurate session notes and submit documentation within required timelines.
• Communicate regularly with general education teachers regarding student needs and accommodations.
• Participate in CSE/IEP meetings as needed.
• Maintain professional communication with families, school administrators, and related service providers.
• Create a structured, supportive learning environment and implement positive behavior strategies.
