Job summary

Family of Kidz invites applications for an Special Educator Resource Room position across North Shore, Nassau County, NY. Work on IEP-guided instruction, develop personalized lesson plans, and collaborate with teachers to support diverse learners in school-hour schedules.

Compensation is $60/hour with benefits for 25+ hours per week. Flexible availability Mon-Fri during school hours, with CSE/IEP meetings as needed and ongoing progress reporting to families and administrators.

Qualifications

• NYS Students with Disabilities Certification K-6, 7-12 (NY S SWD All Grades or Permanent Preferred)
• Minimum of (1) year experience working in a setting focusing on supporting children and their families preferred
• Bilingual is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, small-group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals.
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs.
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to support diverse learners
• Review, understand, and implement each student’s IEP mandates.
• Collect ongoing progress data and prepare quarterly progress reports.
• Maintain accurate session notes and submit documentation within required timelines.
• Communicate regularly with general education teachers regarding student needs, accommodations, and classroom strategies.
• Participate in CSE/IEP meetings as needed.
• Maintain professional communication with families, school administrators, and related service providers.
• Create a structured, supportive learning environment.
• Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom routines.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data.
