Job summary

Family of Kidz is seeking a Special Educator Resource Room to work on-site with students in the South Shore area of Nassau County, NY. The role offers part-time hours during school days and may extend to fee-for-service or full-time based on caseload.

Compensation is $60/hour with session lengths determined by IEP needs. Responsibilities include direct instruction aligned to IEPs, developing individualized plans, data collection, progress reporting, and collaboration with general education

Qualifications

• NYS Students with Disabilities Certification K-6, 7-12 (NY S SWD)
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a setting focusing on supporting children and families
• Bilingual is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, small-group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals.
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies for diverse learners
• Review and implement each student’s IEP mandates
• Collect progress data and prepare quarterly reports
• Maintain session notes and required timelines
• Communicate with general education teachers about needs and accommodations
• Participate in CSE/IEP meetings as needed
• Maintain professional communication with families and schools
• Create a structured learning environment with positive routines
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction based on data
