Job summary

Biddeford Intermediate School is seeking an Educational Technician to reinforce learning and assist in drills, with responsibilities spanning workshop participation and handling non-instructional tasks during emergencies.

The role requires Maine Education Department Education Technician Certification and CHRC fingerprints; prior special needs experience is preferred. Compensation aligns with contract terms and includes district benefits.

Qualifications

• Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education.
• Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) including fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education.
• Appropriate for Ed Technician Certification Level.
• Successful prior classroom experience or working with students with special needs is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom or special education teacher and assist in drill and practice activities.
• Participate in required workshops by request of Building Leader, Supervisor, or Director.
• Perform non-instructional, non-evaluating functions including suspension of students.
• Assist in preparation of instructional materials or provide classroom management functions during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, etc.
• Alerts teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.
