Qualifications

• Documentation of at least 90 credit hours of approved study in an educationally related field.
• Must hold or be eligible for State of Maine Educational Technician III Certification and CHRC Approval Certificate.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, and an understanding of the instructional process and students' needs to include students with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups to review and reinforce learning.
• Introduce new learning per planned instruction in consultation with the teacher.
• Assist in devising strategies for reinforcing material based on student needs.
• Assist in independent study, enrichment, or remedial work as assigned.
• Coach students with functional needs and collect data per student plans.
• Supervise small groups in community-based programs.
• Administer, score and record tests as recommended by the teacher.
• Provide input to the IEP process when requested.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials (copying, typing, filing, etc.).
• Assist with management functions including playground, bus, detention, and lunch duties; supervise during drills.
