Job summary

REGIONAL SCHOOL UNIT NO. 57 in Waterboro, ME seeks an Educational Technician III to support teachers and students in both instructional and computer lab settings.

Qualifications

• Documentation of at least three (3) years of post-secondary education or 90 hours of approved study in an education-related field.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; understanding of the instructional process; awareness of student needs, including those with special needs.
• Knowledge of emergency, health, and safety procedures preferred.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing in-service training as requested by administration.
• Must hold or be eligible for Maine ET III Authorization and CHRC Approval Certificate.
• Ability to maintain high ethical behavior and confidentiality regarding student information, as required by law.
• Prior experience in education is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning under direct supervision.
• Assist in developing strategies to reinforce material based on student needs, interests, and abilities.
• Support independent study, enrichment, and remedial work as directed.
• Administer, score, and record assessments as directed.
• Assist students with instructional materials and equipment.
• Provide input to the IEP process and parent conferences when requested.
• Provide primary support for computer lab technology, including troubleshooting and software updates.
• Support network functions for staff and students (user setup, upgrades, maintenance).
• Prepare and manage the computer lab budget and inventory.
