Job summary

Biddeford and Dayton Schools and Southern Maine Administrative Collaborative is seeking an Education Technician II to support special education programs in Biddeford, ME. The role focuses on reinforcing learning, assisting teachers, and participating in workshops.

Certification as an Education Technician and a current CHRC are required; experience with students with special needs is preferred. Compensation is per the collective bargaining agreement and varies by education level and experience.

Qualifications

• Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education.
• Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education.
• Appropriate Ed Technician Certification Level.
• Successful prior classroom experience or working with students with special needs is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom or special education teacher and assist in drill and practice activities.
• Participate in required workshops by request of Building Leader, Supervisor, or Director.
• Perform non-instructional, non-evaluating functions including suspension of students.
• Assist in preparation of instructional materials or provide classroom management functions during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, etc.
• Alerts teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.
