Job summary

Biddeford andDayton Schools and Southern Maine Administrative Collaborative is seeking an Education Technician II to support special education classrooms and reinforce learning under supervision.

Duties include assisting with instructional activities, preparing materials, and monitoring students during drills and transitions.

Qualifications

• Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education.
• Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education.
• Appropriate for Ed Technician Certification Level.
• Successful prior classroom experience or working with students with special needs for the appropriate grade levels is preferred but not required.

• Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom or special education teacher and assist in drill and practice activities.
• Participate in required workshops by request of Building Leader, Supervisor, or Director.
• Perform non-instructional, non-evaluating functions including suspension of students.
• Assist in preparation of instructional materials or provide classroom management functions during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, etc.
• Alerts teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.

Compensation

Based on position, education level, experience, and per the collective bargaining agreement

Range: $21.70 - $32.67 per hour
