The Mendon-Upton Regional School District Nipmuc Regional High School in Upton, MA is seeking a Special Education Team Chair (.5) to lead IEP meetings, coordinate assessments, and support inclusive practices within the school community.

Reporting to the Director of Student Support Services, you will collaborate with principals and special education staff to ensure compliance, timely evaluations, and strong communication with families, while contributing to district goals and equity initiatives.

Formación

• Excellent interpersonal communication is required.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate IEP discussions.
• Knowledge of special education laws, DESE regulations, and IEP timelines.
• Massachusetts DESE Educator License is required/preferred per the district.

Responsabilidades

• Chair and facilitate all IEP meetings, including annual, reevaluations and determinations.
• Establish and monitor a referral process for evaluations to maintain timelines and compliance.
• Coordinate evaluation, IEP development and placement to ensure full implementation.
• Provide direct support for conflict resolution and participate in mediations or hearings as needed.
• Liaise with Director of Student Services regarding planning, evaluation and placement for students in out-of-district placements.
• Maintain student records at the school.
• Liaise between Director, building admins and special education staff.
• Schedule and develop in-service workshops and community education materials.
• Serve on Student Support Team for appropriate pre-referral interventions.
• Meet regularly with special and general education staff to discuss status of programs.

Educación

Massachusetts DESE Educator License

Master’s degree in education or related field

Bachelor degree preferred
