Job summary

Fremont County School District 14 is seeking a Special Education Teaching Assistant to support students with disabilities and assist teachers with IEP implementation. This role involves collaboration with the regular and special education teams, monitoring student progress, and helping maintain effective classroom activities.

The position emphasizes working with disabled students, supporting inclusive education, and ensuring a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

Demonstrate interest and have experience working with children with disabilities
Prefer documented training related to working with children with disabilities
Hold or be eligible to obtain Wyoming substitute teacher certification
AA degree or 48 college credit hours required

Responsibilities

Collaborates with regular or special education teachers to plan, prepare and implement each student's IEP.
Provides structuring comments to clarify tasks and help lessons proceed smoothly.
Supports teachers' efforts to ensure student time on task.
Aids the teacher in providing evaluative feedback.
Motivates students and communicates effectively with them.
Promotes self-discipline and responsibility among students.
Carries out general employee responsibilities and supports school regulations and policies.
Assumes duties outside the classroom as related to the school.
