Job summary

Bemidji Area Schools is seeking a qualified Academic and Behavioral Strategist to develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs and to provide targeted support to promote academic success.

Ideal candidates hold a Minnesota teaching license in Special Education and will collaborate with families and educators to meet diverse student needs in an inclusive classroom setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• State certification in Special Education or able to obtain special permissions.
• Experience working with students with disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Provide support and accommodations to ensure students’ academic success
• Collaborate with parents and other educators to meet individual student needs
• Utilize various teaching methods to engage students with diverse learning needs
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
• Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment for all students

Applications are being accepted for positions to begin in the2026-27school year. Applicants must be licensed by the Minnesota PELSB to teach one or more of the following special education areas:

ACADEMIC AND BEHAVIORAL STRATEGIST

• AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS
• DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES
• EMOTIONAL BEHAVIOR DISORDERS
• LEARNING DISABILITIES
• EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION
