Job summary

Onward Education is partnering with a Dakota County school district to hire dedicated Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. This on-site role supports elementary and middle school students in center-based classrooms.

You will provide individualized instruction, implement IEP goals, and collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to promote academic, social, and emotional growth.

Qualifications

• Active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License, preferably Tier 3 or Tier 4.
• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; master's degree preferred.
• Experience providing specialized instruction and implementing IEPs for diverse learners.
• Knowledge of Minnesota special education procedures, compliance, and best practices.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience supporting students with behavioral, social-emotional, or academic challenges preferred.

Responsibilities

This is an on-site opportunity supporting elementary and middle school special education (Grades K-8) within specialized programs and classrooms.

As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll provide highly individualized instruction and targeted support for students with disabilities, helping them access the curriculum, build critical skills, and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within self-contained classroom settings.

Position Details:

• Schedule: 40 hours per week
