Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks a Tchr Sp Ed - Res Interrelated in all schools to deliver direct instruction aligned with the AKS curriculum and IEPs. You’ll collaborate with staff to develop and maintain effective instructional programs and communicate progress to families and administrators.

Experience with special education planning, diagnostic assessment, and evidence-based strategies is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in education from PSC-approved college.
Knowledge of GCPS AKS curriculum and policies.
Ability to infuse technology into instruction to increase student learning.
Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.
Knowledge of IDEA and due process.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate command of the school subject being taught.
Develop and prioritize instructional objectives based on the district's AKS curriculum.
Evaluate and modify resources to match learner needs.
Administer screening and diagnostic assessment instruments and interpret results for parents and teachers.
Organize content for presentation and manage the learning environment to maximize student time on task.
Provide formative and summative assessment of student progress toward AKS objectives.
Oversee the due process and coordinate eligibility and placement teams as required.
Collaborate with regular educators to support students with disabilities in regular classrooms.
