Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from a PSC-approved college or university.
• Knowledge of GCPS policies and AKS curriculum.
• Understanding of the teaching/learning process.
• Experience with IDEIA/due process is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide learning experiences based on the district's AKS curriculum.
• Demonstrate command of the subject being taught.
• Develop and maintain academic and behavioral management programs.
• Communicate and work collaboratively with regular educators to support students with disabilities.
• Provide direct instruction and/or specially designed instruction as needed.
• Plan instruction to promote mastery of prerequisite skills and knowledge.
• Assess student learning and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Organize content and manage the learning environment for optimal student time on task.
• Maintain records and report on student progress and assessment results.
