Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks a qualified Special Education Teacher to deliver instruction under the AKS curriculum and IEPs. You will provide direct and specialized instruction, align with district standards, and collaborate with general educators, administrators, and families to support student growth.

Responsibilities include planning lessons, assessing progress, selecting appropriate resources, and ensuring IDEIA/due process compliance.

Qualifications

• Georgia certification requirements in appropriate field of education.
• Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from PSC approved college or university.
• Previous teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide learning experiences based on the district's AKS curriculum and create a conducive learning environment.
• Provide direct instruction and/or specially designed instruction per IEP.
• Consult with teachers/administrators to develop academic and behavioral programs.
• Collaborate with regular educators to support students with disabilities.
• Develop and prioritize instructional objectives and assess student progress.
• Ensure compliance with IDEIA and related due process requirements.
