Responsibilities

• Participate in ARD Committee meetings on a regular basis.
• Collaborate with students, parents, and other staff to develop IEPs through the ARD Committee process for each student.
• Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required.
• Prepare lessons that reflect accommodation for individual student differences.
• Present the subject matter according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.
• Cooperate with staff to plan and implement instructional goals and methods.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers.
• Utilize technology in the teaching/learning process.
• Assist in selection of books, equipment, and materials.
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies for differentiated instruction.
• Maintain student-centered discipline and effective classroom management.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree

Valid teaching certificate for subject/grade level assigned; Special Education certified

Eligible for the appropriate Probationary Certificate through the TEA approved Teacher Certification
