Job summary

Amergis is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students from kindergarten through 12th grade. You will work under the Special Education Program Administrator to plan and implement individualized education programs, including special instruction, tutorial support, and collaboration with general education staff.

Requirements include a teaching certificate, Spanish: Bachelor’s degree preferred, plus relevant endorsements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services to special education students, K–12
• Collaborate with Special Education Program Administrator in planning and implementing student programs
• Include special instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation with general education staff
• Participate in team planning and execution of student programs
