Job summary

Amergis seeks a Special Education Teacher to serve students K–12 under the Special Education Program Administrator. You will deliver quality instructional services and work with general education staff to plan and implement student programs.

You will participate in team planning, provide tutorials, and consult with classroom teachers to meet individual education plans while adhering to federal, state, and local requirements. Must be 18+ with appropriate certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations.
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred.
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred.
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred.
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred.
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services to special education students, K–12.
• Participate in planning and implementing student programs including special instruction and tutorial assistance.
• Consult with general education staff to support student learning.
• Collaborate with the Special Education Program Administrator and team to ensure IFSP/IEP goals are met.
