Job summary

Amergis is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to deliver high-quality services to students from kindergarten through grade 12. Join a collaborative team that engages in planning and implementing individualized programs, including specialized instruction, tutoring, and coordination with general education staff.

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree, a valid state teaching certificate, and possess or be pursuing LBS1 endorsement where possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations.
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred.
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• CPR certification if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• The Special Education Teacher provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12.
• Participates in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
