Job Responsibilities:
- Meet and instruct assigned classes at designated locations and times.
- Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within resource limits.
- Prepare for classes and provide written evidence of preparation upon request.
- Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media suitable for physical limitations and student needs.
- Implement the district's educational philosophy and instructional goals through instruction and actions.
- Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Regularly evaluate students' progress.
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and policies.
- Uphold and enforce school rules, regulations, and policies.
- Be available to students and parents outside instructional hours when required.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings.
- Collaborate with staff in planning instructional goals and methods.
- Assist in selecting instructional materials.
- Participate in co-curricular activities as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with others.
- Pursue professional growth through ongoing education and development activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid New Jersey Teacher Handicapped certification or eligibility.
Additional Information:
Reports to: Principal
Job Goal: To lead students toward their full potential and implement instructional programs as per Individualized Educational Plans.
Salary: In accordance with the TEA contract for a 10-month position.
