Job summary

Qualifications

  • Eligible for North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in Exceptional Children’s teaching area.
  • Must hold and maintain a valid NC drivers license.

Responsibilities

  • Develops IEPs for students with disabilities and updates them as needed.
  • Implements special education instruction and progress monitoring.
  • Guide students to complete curriculum tasks and IEP goals.
  • Uses varied teaching methods and adapts materials to meet needs.
  • Monitor behavior, maintain classroom discipline, and teach behavioral strategies.
  • Evaluate work, coordinate grades, and report progress.
  • Participate in IEP meetings as a team member.
  • Stay current on best practices through PD and collaboration.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
