Rivermont Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students with emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs. You’ll design and implement lessons aligned with Virginia standards and IEPs, adapt instruction for diverse learners, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote academic and behavioral progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• Eligibility for or possession of Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) certification with endorsement in special education or adaptive curriculum
• Strong instructional, communication, and classroom management skills
• Valid Virginia driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning and individualized education programs (IEPs).
• Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs using research-based strategies and behavior analytic principles.
• Collaborate with behavior specialists, therapists, and families to support academic and behavioral progress.
• Assess student performance and adjust instruction to promote mastery and engagement.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student data, progress, and compliance with state and school requirements.
